Points cloud-based Building Information Modeling
The use of Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) point clouds in Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment is an emerging approach that provides an excellent way to rapidly assess the conditions of existing buildings and artefacts.
The workshop provides the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge of BIM and TLS and of their integration for reconstructing accurate 3D models.
In the first part, the 3D TLS technique will be introduced and experimented by experts in the field of architectural surveying; the second part will be focused on the use of BIM tools also dedicated to manage TLS points clouds.
