Curriculum

1989: degree in “Aeronautical Engineering”, University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

1990-2001: graduate technician, University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

1993: doctorate in “Applied Mechanics”, University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

2001-present: lecturer in “Fluid Mechanics" at the Department of Civil, Constructional and Environmental Engineering.

2001-present: member of the Council of the Doctorate in Hydraulic Engineering.

 

TEACHING ACTIVITY

Teaching involves courses for undergraduate and master courses in Environmental Engineering (Fluid Mechanics, Marine Hydraulics, and Dispersion Models), and Ph.D. thesis supervision.

 

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

He carried out scientific activity in the field of environmental fluid mechanics, in particular: (a) Development of Lagrangian models for the evaluation of pollutant concentrations (means and fluctuations) in ocean and atmosphere; (b) Study of the breeze circulation by means of field campaigns; (c) Numerical simulation of the mesoscale atmospheric circulation and related pollutant dispersion; (d) Study of the pollutant dispersion in urban areas; (e) Numerical simulation of the urban heat island; (f) Modeling of hydrodynamic fields and marine pollutant dispersion.

The scientific activity is documented by 116 papers, on conference proceedings (64), journals (43), books (8) and PhD thesis (1). He has been coordinator of several research projects related to environmental fluid mechanics.
