Main research fields: - Systemic architectural and building design, Design theories; – Computer aided methodologies and technologies for Architectural design; - Collaborative design – theories and applications; - Performative and parametric building design and modelling; - Biomimicry for an energy saving performative design; - Prefabricated modular components for an industrialized architecture; - Typology of architecture – theatres, exhibit pavilions, performance spaces. . L'attività di ricerca ha principalmente per oggetto: ­ - i modelli e sistemi software per la progettazione architettonica ed edilizia assistita; ­ - la progettazione collaborativa – teorie e applicazioni; - la modellazione con approcci performativi e parametrici; - la biomimicry per la progettazione energetico-prestazionale; ­ - la prefabbricazione e componenti costruttivi modulari; - alcuni tipi edilizi consolidati, teatri, padiglioni espositivi e sale di spettacolo.
Curriculum

STUDIES

1985, Master's Graduated (score 110/110 cum laude and published) in Building Engineering at the "Sapienza" University of Rome with the experimental thesis "An ideal stratified hot water storage tank and an integrated plant-building energy model".

1991, PhD in Architecture and Building Engineering, with a thesis "Yesterday's and today's theatres".

ACADEMIC POSITION

2007-Present, Member of the Board of teachers of “Architecture and Building Engineering” PhD course, Sapienza University of Rome.

2000-Present, Researcher/Assistant Professor of Building Design at the Faculty of Engineering - Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, "Sapienza" University of Rome, since.

1994-Present, Member of several Faculty committees (final thesis, research, examination, Moodle, advanced facilities).

1990-2002, Responsible of Department’s LAN and of CAAD Laboratory.

OTHER ACTIVITY

2011-2015, member of the Board of Ar.Tec. - Italian scientific association for promoting Architectural and Building Engineering studies.

2014-Present, member of the Council of eCAADe - education and research of Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe.

2014-2015, member of IAOA - The International Association for Ontology and its Applications.
